Talk:Packrat (person)

I find the example at the bottom of this article rather excellent.
[edit] How would you characterise the opposite of a packrat ?
How would you call someone who really likes to keep his possessions very lean and compact?
_I have always called the opposite a "chucker," though my wife uses the term "purger." I am not aware of any formalized definition, but I think it is important to the understanding of packrat to be able to describe the full spectrum, ie, compulsive hoarder...packrat...chucker. When I say "chucker," I think of my mother who was so intent upon ridding herself of any excess that she often threw out the current edition of TV guide before anyone else had seen it. This is only one example. I suspect that both hoarding and "chucking" could be described as compulsive behaviors, with packrat being seen as a less severe version.

[edit] Help
I wiki'ed this page because I need help. I have boxes and boxes of MAXIM, STUFF, FHM, etc I cannot bare to throw them out. Each cover is like a piece of art; how can someone toss it out, especially when I have a whole collection of them. Even though I know 75% of the magazine is full of ads. Anyway, what a funny article to read.
-^ I am 17 years old and a various collector of such fine art. I am curious and would like to browse your rarest compilations, you can reach me via imstillup@hotmail.com.
