[edit] Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read the simplified ruleset. There are thousands of ways to get help on Wikipedia. I personally recommend the Wikipedia:Boot Camp, where in addition to standard posts, you can use an IRC to chat online with fellow Wikipedians willing to help! In addition, Wikipedia also has pages dedicated to the use of Wikipedia, for example, if you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting pages visit the manual of style. Feel free to post questions on my talk page - I'm happy to help you with anything you need.
- Please create your user page and tell us (very roughly - anonymity is allowed) your age, your sex and where you live. -- RHaworth 18:54, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Copyvio
Copy-and-pasting chunks from other web pages is not the way we do things here. -- RHaworth 06:28, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
I an also highly dubious of your claim to have created Image:Parkhill.jpg. -- RHaworth 06:42, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image marked for deletion
An image that you uploaded, Image:Samq.jpg, has been marked for deletion because it does not have a 'fair use' rationale. However, I suspect that you may have taken this photo yourself. In that case you can license the photos under the GDFL by placing {{GFDL-self}} in the licensing section of the image page. -- Donald Albury 22:52, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Croydon Guardian
A tag has been placed on Croydon Guardian, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Quietust 18:27, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:130_mb217.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:130_mb217.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Vandalism of my user page
Please refrain from vandalising the user pages of other users, or making changes which the user indicates are unhelpful. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Regan123 17:20, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:2175.jpg
I have reverted your edit to Image:2175.jpg. I do not believe you are an administrator and you should not have put the {{rk}} template on the image. Please let me know why you did this. --EarthPerson 17:22, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
I did the same for:
If you took the images yourself, please license them like you have your others. Thanks and happy editing. --EarthPerson 17:43, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Portland Road
A {{afd}} tag has been placed on Portland Road, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. All Wikipedians can join the debate at Articles for deletion, where articles asserted to be inappropriate to Wikipedia are discussed. You are encouraged to submit your opinion, and remember that Articles for Deletion debates are not a vote. You can also leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the deletion tag yourself, but don't feel inhibited from editing the article, particularly if doing so makes it clear that it is a useful contribution to an encyclopaedia. -- zzuuzz(talk) 18:01, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- As I say on the article for deletion talk page I think this is a totally inappropriate nomination for deletion. I've taken the liberty of expanding your article with some more facts and with appropriate references so they can't level the "oh, you can't prove it's important" charge at the page. submit your opinion. Looking at your edit history, you seem to have done a lot of articles on London - if you're not already a member, you might want to consider joining WikiProject London - iridescenti (talk to me!) 19:09, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

- Thank you for the further development of the article, Iridescenti. I wish to say to Pafcool that if s/he wants to participate in the AfD or other constructive editing I am willing to lift the block forthwith - on the understanding that there is no more userpage editing like before. -- zzuuzz(talk) 19:17, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] CRx
It was agreed a long time ago (see this) that we would not have separate articles for the individual Croydon postal districts. -- RHaworth 19:12, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Suggestion
I appreciate your burning desire to contribute and realise how frustrating it must be to have your work constantly, prodded, AfDd and reverted. I suggest: create new articles in user:Pafcool2/sandbox first, do not spend too much time on them but ask an experienced local editor such as Iridescenti, Mtiedemann or myself whether it is encyclopedic and under what title it should go. We are trying to help, believe me. -- RHaworth 19:55, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
