NB: I am on an indefinite Wikibreak, so please don't expect any replies to anything
Q: Is this a complete Wikibreak?
A: No. I may still make some edits here and there, but don't expect anything like the rate of edits I had in the past.
Q: What prompted this?
A: Largely, the feeling that I was spending too much of my time keeping articles where they were, rather than actually improving them.
Q: Anything else?
A: Yes. It seems to me that, on anything which isn't a good article, we don't do much more than pay lip-service to the policies of verifiability and original research. Try an experiment: pick a random article. Does it have a single citation? I fully accept articles can be started and then improved, but frankly, the latter step just doesn't happen. Editors move on to create another low-quality article, and Wikipedia doesn't actually improve.
