Patuxent Boys Soccer is a High school soccer club located in Lusby Maryland that participates in SMAC. The club's unofficial nickname is the "Green Men" and home uniforms are green and white with accents of black. The team's name refers to the school it represents. The nickname is traced back to homecoming football games where varsity players dawn green paint in 40 degree weather and run a quarter mile. To date, Patuxent is the most successful team in Smac.
The team's home field is the Panther den located on the right side of the Patuxent High School campus. The town is considered to be one of the most supportive of soccer in the county. The 2006 team had the strongest midfield line in the state consisting of Tommy Hayden C-AMF, Steve Lauver C-DMF, Matt Quigley RMF, and Billy Lotzman LMF. Anchored with a strong central defense in Joe Oko and Blake Shubert with keeper Matt McMinn, the 06 club was deserving of the title.

[edit] History
The club has always been a very strong competitor in its division bringing home many county cups to the school. It took 10 years, however, for the school to bring back a smac championship which occurred in 2006. That year they had 5 All-SMAC players (Joe Oko, Tommy Hayden, Abe Darrow, Matt McMinn-juice, Billy Lotzmann). Joe was also awarded All state honorable mention as well as All Met Honorable Mention. Juice was also awarded all met Honorable mention.
The team has had some of the best coaching staff in SMAC. Its first concrete coach was Mr. Gray, a earth science teacher at Patuxent. He was then followed by Mike Malamphy. Next was Mark Fisher. The current coach is Greg McMinn. Greg took the team in his first full season to the SMAC championship and plans to continue with the team.
Patuxent's primary rivals are Huntingtown High school, Leonardtown High school, Northern High school, and Calvert High school. These five teams are some of the most competitive schools and have some of biggest rivalries because of competition dating back to youth soccer days.
Famous players for Patuxent that have moved through the team have included Tommy Hayden, Abe Darrow, Steve Lauver, Joe Oko, Matt McMinn-juice, Billy Lotzmann, Blake Shubert, Jeff Shubert, Matt Quigley, Jeff Quigley, Steve Gray, Shane Malamphy, Ryan Mills, Eric Olsen, Josh Oko, Jake Rozran, Scott young, Craige, kyle Slaton and Andrew Kaupp.
