Paulette Schwartzmann

Paulette Schwartzmann was a French–Argentine chess player.
She played twice in Women's World Chess Championship. In 1933, she took 6th in Folkestone (4th WW-ch; Vera Menchik won). In 1939, she tied for 9-10th in Buenos Aires (7th WW-ch; Vera Menchik–Stevenson won).[1]
In September 1939, when WW II was broke out, Paulette Schwartzmann, along with many other participants of the 8th Chess Olympiad (Najdorf, Stahlberg, Frydman, Eliskases, Michel, Engels, Becker, Reinhardt, Pelikan, Skalička, Luckis, Feigins, Raud, Czerniak, Rauch, Winz, Gromer, Sulik, Seitz, de Ronde, Kleinstein, Sonja Graf, etc.) had decided to stay permanently in Argentina. She was Argentine Women's Champion in 1948/1953. [2]
