Talk:Paul Gilbert
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
No mention of Mr. Big at all ? After all, he recorded a lot of albums with them, toured with them, and I am tempted to say that Mr. Big was a big part of getting his solo career off the ground, as he got plenty of exposure touring and recording with them...
Let's not forget that Paul also collaborated in writing 'To Be With You', one of the most popular songs of the 90's.
>>>More to the point...how about Racer X?
Can someone put a newer picture of him from his website on here instead of this old picture?
the bits about yngwie and vai attending GIT sounds like they took lessons there, when, as far as i or anyone else knows, they were most likely giving perfromances/seminars.

[edit] GIT
"Paul also teaches at the Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) which he attended as well Gary Hoey and many other talented guitar players." I'm having trouble parsing this sentence. I think an 'as' in "as well as Gary Hoey" is missing. Maybe it should be "attended with Gary Hoey"? Or is it trying say that Gary Hoey and others also teach there? It's so awkward that a one word change might not be enough to fix it and it should be rewritten. Better yet, the whole Gary Hoey unconnected clause could be dropped. I would do it, but I don't know what that sentence is supposed to say. Chiok 12:22, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Paul Gilbert's real name
Paul Gilbert's real name is Paublo Gilberti. Mr. C.C. 06:26, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
No...it is actually Paul Gilbert. He did, however, create an alias, 'Pablo Gilberto,' but it was only an alias. Autocat 22:23, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Autocat
[edit] Influences, Hendrix
I am only guessing this, but I am going to add Hendrix to the list merely because of the amount of cover's he's done and the obvious influence in his music.
Second thoughts, nevermind- if someone has some source ad it, I guess the 'blues' as an influence works enough, just thought that Hendrix seemed such a huge influence.
[edit] instructor at GIT (specifically teaching buckethead)
its pretty well known that he taught buckethead while he was a instructor at git in l.a but heres the closest thing i can find to a citation on it http://www.metalsludge.tv/main/modules/subjects/pages/ExposedBuckethead.jpg hope thats useful to you guys :) Aragami 03:00, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
