Bunchosia argentea is a small red-orange fruit with sticky, dense pulp and a flavour resembling a dried fig. It is native to Central and South America. In the family Malpighiaceae it is related to the Nance and the Acerola.
It has a flavor very similar to that of peanut butter, hence its name. Mostly eaten fresh, also used for jellies, jams, or preserves. Native to South America, but grown mainly in South Florida.
