Talk:Pete's Dragon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
...I don't think Goof Troop's Pete is a dinosaur, or even remotely resembles Eliott. Does anyone else agree? MasterXiam 17:52, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
I agree. Black Pete dates back to the original Mickey cartoon and is completely unrelated to this entry. It's possible that it refers to a similar dragon character in a particular episode of Goof Troop, but I can't be sure, and it's phrased badly. I removed that section, which is reproduced here.
"*Disney also has a character Pete which is a dinosaur similar in appearance to Elliott that appeared in the Disney children's television series Goof Troop (episode "Great Egg-Spectations")." Ryuko 06:33, 22 March 2006
There wasn't a dinosaur or dragon called Pete in Goof Troop. There was one called Bubbles though. There was a dinosaur in "Darkwing Duck" called Steggmutt though, and had the same hair as Elliott (AndrewAnorak 07:51, 17 March 2007 (UTC))
[edit] Muad and Wvyern
I was reading a story about a girl name Muad, that had a wvyern as a pet. Now the idea came up to me, that Pete's Dragon may have been based on this story. The simarlities are a child and a dragon being friends, and the dragon as a protector and some people wanted to kill the dragon. However, the difference between Pete's Dragon and Muad and the Wvyern, is that Elliot is more like a child, who causes trouble, and can be nice, and the reason why wanted to be killed, is so that the villian can have more money and the town does know there is a dragon until at the end and sets at the early 1900's, while the Wvyern in the older tale is set at the middle ages, and unlike Elliot, the wyven is more seroius (for example, king kong is seroius) and the town knows about the dragon and unlike the happy ending in the movie, the dragon wass kill, and the girl was left a lone to cry (like Ann in the 2005 king kong). So, please write comments.
[edit] Sequel?
Is there any news of a sequel? Most other Disney fims have one now, and unlike most other Disney films with sequels Pete's Dragon does have an open ending. Prehaps he helps a new child in need. (AndrewAnorak 07:51, 17 March 2007 (UTC))
