Talk:Pixar Image Computer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(from an email by a person around at that time) The Pixar Image computer business was sold to Vicom, not Viacom. Vicom was, if I recall correctly, the reconstituted computer graphics business of Gould. As I recall, Vicom's plan was to dominate the computer graphic hardware business by buying out the competition ( i.e., Pixar Image compter and others ) and become the sole player in the field.
I think Vicom officially died around 1993. But they did continue to sell and service the PIC while in business, as well as design some of their own hardware.
