Polk Community College

Polk Community College is located in Polk County, Florida. Originally named Polk Junior College, it began classes in 1964. The main campus is located in Winter Haven. In 1988, a second campus was opened in Lakeland. Total enrollment is about 9,000 credit students and 11,000 non-credit students, served by a staff of about 100 full-time faculty members. In 2004, the Collegiate High School was opened on the Lakeland campus, and a second CHS (Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School) opened in Winter Haven in Fall 2006.
The Polk Community College Libraries serve students of the Collegiate High School, Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School, community college students, and students of the University of South Florida with a growing collection of traditional and virtual resources including art prints and sculpture, and audio and video formats.
