Predrag Savović (born May 21, 1976 in Pula, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (now in present-day Croatia) is a Serbian professional basketball player with Spanish passport, formerly of NBA's Denver Nuggets.
[edit] Education
Savović graduated from Ivan Goran Kovacic High School 1994. He also graduated with honors from University of Hawaii at Manoa at year 2002 with two degrees in International and Finance. He also holds a minor degree in Economics from the same university.
[edit] Career
At the outbreak of war in Croatia and breakup of Yugoslavia Savović's family (including his brother Slobodan Boban, also a professional basketball player) fled to Serbia where he played with Partizan Belgrade, KK Beovuk, and KK Iva Zorka Pharm. However, after not being able to find himself playing in the league of former Yugoslavia he moved to the American NCAA even though he was well into his twenties.
Undrafted, he signed with the National Basketball Association's Denver Nuggets in 2002, for whom he played during the 2002-03 NBA season, making him one of only few European players by that time to make a jump from NCAA to NBA.
Currently, he is in his third season for Lagun Aro Bilbao in the Spanish ACB.
