[edit] History
The vicinity of Pulaski was the site of a number of skirmishes during the Franklin-Nashville Campaign of the American Civil War.
In 1865, Pulaski was the birthplace of the Ku Klux Klan, commonly referred to as the KKK. The group was founded in the law office of a local judge. [1] The building the KKK was formed in is still standing and bears a plaque commemorating the event, [2]. Many in the town have distanced themselves from the town's historical association with the Klan and the plaque announcing its formation has since been turned around and bolted to the wall backwards. However, each October, Thomas Robb's Knights of the Ku Klux Klan holds a White Christian Heritage Festival in the town square in Pulaski. [3]
