Radio salaam shalom
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Radio Salaam Shalom (aka Salaam Shalom Radio) is a Bristol-based online radio station run by an interfaith team of both Jews and Muslims. It launched on 1 February 2007[1] with six hours of live, original programming between 6 and 9 pm GMT daily with non-stop music filling the rest of the broadcast day.
Radio Salaam Shalom is seen as the UK's first Muslim-Jewish initiative of this type and emphasises the voice of the “moderate majority”. Its programmes give people from both communities the chance to celebrate, debate and share the events, issues and faith that shape their daily lives.
One of its most innovative features is an open invitation to its global listeners to submit their own podcasts from around the world for future inclusion in its own broadcasts as the service expands.
The station was launched with support from the UK Home Office Faith Communities Capacity Building Fund and the Community Development Foundation.
