Ran Hibiki (ひびき 蘭 Hibiki Ran?) is a character from Capcom's Rival Schools series of fighting games. She is a student from Taiyo High School whose fighting prowess was in being a very skilled photographer and news reporter, even having a move where she interviews an opposing character.
[edit] History
[edit] Rival Schools: Evolution 2
Ran is introduced as an eager reporter for Taiyo High's school newspaper who sees the cases of school kidnappings as a perfect story opportunity, and immediately begins investigating. As one of the two characters introduced in Evolution 2, which lacks a proper story mode, Ran does not have any cutscenes that indicate what happened to her during the events of Rival Schools, leaving fans to speculate her actions during that time. Whatever happened to her, she eventually is able to get the scoop on and write a story about Justice High's kidnapping and the foiling of Hyo Imawano's plans; a story which earns her a prize for best scoop during the school year.
[edit] Project Justice
A year later, when the Taiyo-Pacific Athletics Battle is interrupted by violence, Ran again quickly jumps into an investigation of the cause of the events. This time around, she works together with Taiyo's student Chairperson (who initially is reluctant to allow Ran to join, although gives in because Ran would not take 'no' for an answer) and Pacific High student Boman Delgado, as well as working with Boman's classmates Roy and Tiffany later on. The cooperation between the students during the investigation inspires Ran to write another article about international friendships. However, she also is one of the students stunned and saddened by the disappearance of Kyosuke after the destruction of Justice High.
