Razz, Inc.(formerly known as Phonebites, Inc.) is a pioneer in the realm of "in call entertainment". Their mobile software allows users to transmit pre-recorded sound effects to other parties during cell phone conversations. Initially launching in 2002 with a dongle that contained a limited number of sound effects that plugged directly into the headphone jack of any cell phone, Razz has now expanded their offering to include software that runs directly on the user’s phone. This allows for a constantly expanding library of original and licensed content available for purchase from service providers such as Jamster.
The Razz Mixerwas introduced in October 2006 to allow users to create personalized recordings featuring Razz sound effects, voice, and custom background tracks. Recordings can be posted onto web pages, blogs, or social networking profiles via embeddable flash code.
