Rhytida patula is a terrestrial gastropod in the family Rhytididae, endemic to the South Island of New Zealand. It is found in the western part of the South Island.
The shell is depressed, with rapidly increasing whorls, thin, almost entirely chitinous. The surface is finely malleated. The colour is brownish-olive.
Major diameter is up to 28 mm, and height up to 12 mm.
