Richard Chopping

Richard Chopping (born 1917) in Colchester Essex[1]is an illustrator best known for painting the dust jackets of Ian Fleming's James Bond novels starting with From Russia with Love which was published in 1957. He paints in the trompe l'oeil style, creating a realistic and almost three dimensional appearance.
Chopping also illustrated the cover of John Gardner's first James Bond continuation novel, Licence Renewed in 1981.
