Ricochet (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ricochet is an American country music band hailing from the state of Oklahoma.
The band Ricochet was formed after brothers Jeff and Junior Bryant disbanded their own Texas-based band, Lariat, to team with Wright, as well as musicians Greg Cook, Teddy Carr and Eddie Kilgallon. After producer Ron Chancey saw the band play in a club in Columbia, Mo., he tipped off his son Blake Chancey, an executive at Sony Music in Nashville.
Ricochet signed to Columbia and charted three Top 10 singles in 1996, including the No. 1 hit "Daddy's Money". Their self-titled debut album was certified gold, and they were nominated for many awards, including the Country Music Association and the Academy Of Country Music. However, their momentum faded on their second album, and the band left Sony a few years later. They released a live album in 2004 on Kansas independent record label, Cowtown Records.
