Riven Phoenix (born November 8, 1971) is an art educator who came to international attention via YouTube, a popular video sharing site. Riven rapidly gained notoriety with his [1]‘The Structure of Man’ an online anatomy training course spanning 43 hours, consisting of 227 YouTube videos. His approach to teaching is based on radical ideas of thinking and invention loosely designed around Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo’s techniques of drawing the human form. ‘The Structure of Man’ blog quickly gained a worldwide fan base due to its success through YouTube' as a means for artists new and experienced to learn or improve their knowledge of anatomy in a very short period of time. His videos have opened doors for thousands and directed attention toward the importance of drawing with a fundamental knowledge of the subject to avoid relying on the untrained mind's tendency toward symbolism. Riven is considered to be the first educator to cross over from the classroom into millions of homes via YouTube.
