Riverside South (Canary Wharf)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Riverside South is a major new office development being planned for Canary Wharf, London.
Riverside South will be located on the western side of the Isle of Dogs immediately south of Westferry Circus on the edge of the River Thames. This is one of the few sites left at Canary Wharf identified as suitable for the construction of tall skyscrapers.
It will consist of two skyscrapers of 214m and 189m, designed by Sir Richard Rogers. The towers will be joined at the base and together they will form the largest new office development in Europe, with almost 3 million square feet of floorspace.
The taller of the two will become one of the tallest buildings in the UK, after One Canada Square and the combined development will have the longest river frontage of any London building.
Planning permission for the development was granted in 2005, and construction is due to start in April 2007.
JPMorgan are currently considering the development as an option for re-location from it's current multitude of City of London offices.
