Talk:Road crime unit
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The original posting of this article seems to be without any citation. I wonder if it is purely composed from opinion from an uninformed source.
I urge that where there is some limited knowledge that no article be posted that seems to attempt to talk with authority.
I wrote the original entry, as a police officer of 10 years service and a member of a Road Crime Unit. Does that suffice as knowledge and authority ?
So to say that i'm unimpressed that my 10 paragraph entry has been cut/delete doesn't go far enough!

Having viewed the history of edits of this article, I've noticed a dramatic cut from the original version to the current. However this hacking of the article does not seem entirely without merit. The original seemed to be rather like a personal experience rather than a general encyclopedic entry, and was written in an unstructured and meandering way. I also note the the article did not seem to have any references to back up the various details within it.
As for safety1st claiming that 10 years police service makes him/her authoritative enough to write on the subject of road crime units who can tell? Sadly it seems it this experience does not help him/her write clearly without waffle or with supportable qualification, and this puts that experience beyond any meaningful use in a specific article. Perhaps it would be useful in a (non-wiki) memoir of some sort?

For your info 'all' earlier versions of an article are saved and so you can always restore your entry should you so wish.
I've also read the previous edits and am puzzled as to the subject of the article; are you writing about a specific road crime team, or road crime teams as a general entity type? It makes me think that the ambiguity of the subject could confuse people.
Just a thought

I don't think that this discussion is useful to keep. It documents an argument rather than the topic discussed. Can it be archived please?
