Roger Allers

Roger Allers is a famous film director and screenwriter, who has worked on many successful Disney movies. Away from the Disney studio, he directed the animated movie, Open Season for Sony.
He directed the Academy Award winning movie, The Lion King. He was also nominated for a Tony for writing the book of the hit Broadway musical version of "The Lion King". He wrote, among other things, the script for Oliver and Company, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.
In 2007, Allers received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Short Film for his interpretation of the classic Hans Christian Andersen tale, The Little Match Girl, a short originally intended for Fantasia 2006.
