Rose Ann Scamardella was an Eyewitness News anchorwoman on WABC-TV in New York City from 1972-1984. She started off as a reporter for Eyewitness News and in 1978 became an anchor for the broadcast. She remained in that position until leaving Eyewitness News.
The name of Gilda Radner's character "Roseanne Roseannadanna" on Saturday Night Live in the late 1970s was a play on her name.
She went on to teach at the Salisbury School in Salisbury, CT during the 1990's and into 2000.
