[edit] ROUTEMASTER RAMPAGE
The Routemaster Rampage is a concept motor rally in which contestants must race a red London double decker bus known as a Routemaster across Africa. The rally begins in London, England and ends in Cape Town, South Africa. Unlike traditional rallies, the Routemaster Rampage is designed to be an adventure for its participants and, with this principle in mind, no support crew is provided for the duration of the rally.
[edit] Origin
The Routemaster Rampage follows in the footsteps of the Institute for Adventure Research's now annual banger rally known as the Mongol Rally. The Mongol Rally is described by its founders as the "Greatest Adventure in the World", and it now has three years' worth of veterans who are in search of an even greater adventure. The Routemaster Rampage is the brainchild of David Griffiths, a veteran Mongol Rallier of Team Buzzwagon provenance.
