Rusovce (German: Karlburg, Hungarian: Oroszvár, Croatian: Rosvar) is a city part in the south of Bratislava on the right side of the Danube river, close to the Hungarian borders.
There was a Roman settlement named Gerulata in what is today Rusovce in the first centuries AD. The first preserved written reference to the settlement stems from 1208. It was part of Hungary until 1947. On October 15th 1947 - together with Čunovo and Jarovce - it became part of Czechoslovakia according to the Paris Peace Treaty. On January 1st 1972 it was made a city part of Bratislava.

Ruins of the Roman military camp Gerulata. Another interesting point is the Rusovce palace, built in the 19th century in the Windsor style with an English park. Currently, it is closed for public.
