Safeguard (Blame!)

The Safeguard are a group in the BLAME! manga comics by the artist Tsutomu Nihei. It is the completely independent defense system of the Net Sphere. It kills any human who attempts to access the Net Sphere, or to cross the Megastructure without the Net Terminal Gene. It can transmute any part of the City for its purposes. It can also transform humans into its soldiers. And it has more powerful agents, like Sanakan, and the monster which attacks the Fishermen. They're like "The Agents" in "the Matrix."
