Salak Expressway or East-West Link E 27 is an extension of Federal Highway from Seputeh to Taman Connaught in Cheras (not to be confused with the East-West Highway route 4 that runs from Gerik in Perak to Jeli in Kelantan)

The expressway was constructed on 1992, Meanwhile the first section of the Salak Expressway from Seputeh to Salak interchange was upgraded into six-lane carriageway on 1993. The expressway finaly completed and it was opened to traffic on August 1994.
