Simple proposal for XfD (X for deletion) process:
- Nominators must show that they have contacted at least ten contributors who have contributed to the X, or otherwise shown positive awareness of it, or have edited related articles, and have been active within the previous five days (note that XfD discussion typically get closed after five days). This failing, the nominator must show that the required number of contributors cannot be found; in this case, notices should be posted on at least ten related articles (in the appropriate namespace; if X is used in Wikipedia namespace, the announcement should be to articles in that namespace also); this failing, ten related templates or, that failing, images should receive such notifications.
- For any X for whom all of the above fails, a special category, "orphaned miscellany for deletion" should be created and a digest posted daily to the administrators' noticeboard to allow opposing deletion of anything that may have merit.
