Saputo Stadium
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Saputo Stadium (French: Stade Saputo) is a soccer-specific stadium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada which is awaiting construction. Once completed in 2007 or 2008, it will be used mostly for football (soccer) matches. The stadium will hold around 13,500 people. Its main tenant will be the Montreal Impact, partially owned by the Québec dairy products company Saputo. The stadium will be named after the family, and not the company..
Saputo Stadium will cost 15 million Canadian dollars. Half of it will be paid by the Saputo family, and the rest will come from other private sector contributions. Saputo Stadium will have 3 training fields, one indoor field, 12 corporate boxes and six dressing rooms. The complex will cover 1.6 million square feet. While it will be mostly used by Montréal's soccer team, the Montreal Impact, other local teams will also be allowed to play there.
