Savane
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Savane is a free web-based software hosting system.
[edit] History
Savane is the continuation of the software used by the GNU Savannah project-hosting website. Originally named "Savannah", it was renamed to Savane as to prevent confusion with the GNU platform.
The Savane code began life as a fork of SourceForge 2.0. When SourceForge was made proprietary software, Savane, which is the French word for Savannah, was set up by the Free Software Foundation in France. This allowed them to modify the source code and maintain it sufficiently.
