From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Scuppernong is a blackwater river that flows through Tyrrell County and Washington County into the Albemarle Sound of North Carolina in the United States.
The famous Scuppernong grapes were first discovered in the 17th century, when the first settlers moved into the area, growing near the Scuppernong River. They are native to the area and since have been exported to all areas of the southern states of the United States.
