Seabrook Railroad Bridge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Seabrook Railroad Bridge is a bascule bridge which carries two railroad tracks across the Industrial Canal in New Orleans, Louisiana. The bridge is owned and operated by the Port of New Orleans. Normally stays in the up position. Amtrak's Crescent uses this bridge. Automobile traffic used this bridge prior to the construction of the Seabrook Bridge directly to the north. The former automobile lanes, with their deteriorated wooden decks, still straddle the railroad span.
