Shizuoka Airport (静岡空港 Shizuoka Kūkō?) is an airport currently under construction in Shizuoka Prefecture,Japan.It is expected to be completed and operational by March, 2009. To allow for growth in air travel to Shizuoka, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture is buying 470 acres (190 ha) of land for the Shizuoka Airport. This location is between Makinohara and Shimada.
