Talk:Shoutwire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Digg trolls, please stop being so hard on shoutwire on its own page. You make all of us Digg users look bad. I edited the page to try to strike a compromise (as it is more than half the page is criticism). I am not a shoutwire user, so someone who actually knows stuff needs to add to this page. 66.75.49.213 05:28, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
"Unlike Digg, shoutwire employs a team of editors and moderators to oversee the site's content."
Odd, because I just came from shoutwire which has a frontpage story that starts "An Ohio negro, who served 22 years for raping a woman back in the '80s, raped again after being released from jail."
It has only 3 shouts and is on the frontpage. Looks like the site is dead to me and these so called moderators don't do their jobs.
RESPONSE: Editorials go straight to the front page after being submitted.
[edit] Comparisons Section Bias
Section appears heavily biased in favor the website and doesn't mention any of the oft cited criticsm. Tagging as POV. - 24.95.51.216 18:53, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
There's a great amount of news messages, based on conspiracy paranoide sources. The amount of anti-semitism/anti-israelism is also alarming in the presentation, selection and the viewpoint of the news and the outrageous replies on it.
I have removed the bold text from the bit about the "Ohio Negro" article. I also edited it slightly because it was not the head administrator who posted it. Also added was the fact that the article in question was deleted. (Bulshoy 21:14, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Bulshoy)
- Bulshoy, that is inaccurate. It was posted by Scienott who has been identified multiple times as the manager of multiple Valence Media websites.
This is true, the comparison section favors Shoutwire, it points out Diggs flaws and doesn't offer any of Shoutwires. The "logic" is also completely off... ie "because Shoutwire has a volunteer staff, there are fewer double submissions and etc unlike Digg's staff" -- How in the hell does that logic follow? It doesn't make any sense, that conclusion can't be made and if you could make one, it'd be the opposite.
[edit] Controversial Content
Added this to address previously stated POV issues. Should balance it out a bit.
