Shropshire Family History Society

The Shropshire Family History Society, is a Family History Society that covers the county of Shropshire, United Kingdom sometime known as Salop.
It was founded in 1979 to provide a meeting place in Shropshire for all those interested in Family History and Genealogy and a focal point for those with Shropshire Roots.
The Society is a Registered Charity with over two thousand members around the World.
It produces a quarterly Journal. Publication is scheduled for March, June, September and December.
10 Monthly Meetings take place in Shrewsbury from September to June, usually with a speaker and a fair is held on the first Saturday in June.
The Society attends many Fairs, Rallies and events around Shropshire and the adjoining regions with a selection of databases and knowledgeable staff to try to answer visitors Family History questions.
It is a member of the Federation of Family History Societies.
