The Socimi Type 821 is an Italian submachine gun. The Socimi shares some similarities with the Uzi including the telescoping bolt, safety, and housing of the magazine in the pistol grip. Unlike the Uzi, the Socimi's receiver is solid and rectangular, with the bolt inserted from the rear. The barrel is inserted in the front, and is secured by a nut. The stock retracts by pivoting underneath the receiver and lying flat against the gun. Most parts are made of a lightweight alloy. Little information is available on purchasers.
