Sometimes A Great Notion was a 1971 film, starring Paul Newman and Henry Fonda, and featuring Richard Jaeckel in his Oscar nominated role. The film was also known as Never Give A Inch [sic].[1] The film is based on the novel of the same name, Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey.
The fictional setting of Wakonda, Oregon was filmed at various locations on the Oregon Coast, including Kernville and Newport. [2]
