Talk:Split pin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yes, yes, please merge! I came across that strange Brass fastener page yesterday while going through tool stubs. I could tell it was referring to these things, but I couldn't for the life of me think what they would be called.

Yes merge. Both pages say basically the same thing... Who on earth calls them "brass fasteners"?
Yes, I would say to merge the two, also. Most stationary and office supply stores that I have researched lately call them brass fastener. I, for one, have never heard them called Split Pins, as I was taught that name was synonymous with cotter pins. But maybe that's a North American (or Canadian) thing.
I originally thought that "brass fastener" was a strangely vague name for these things, but upon further research, I can find nowhere that describes these as anything other than that. I'm thinking that the title should be "Brass fastener (paper)" with "Brass fastener" (which could be any brass bolt, screw or tack) and "Split pin" (which is surely more common as an AKA for cotter pins) as disambigs.
