[edit] Was Tim Manion a Jesuit?
That's the question! I wrote most of the "History" section of this page with information from this article [1] in America. But it doesn't say whether Tim Manion was ever a Jesuit, although it mentions "Tim Manion's wife" in 1980. - Lawrence King 22:50, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
I just read a new article on this: [2]. The author asserts that Manion was in the Jesuit seminary but never ordained. (Are Jesuit scholastics properly called "Jesuits"? Does it depend on whether they have taken solemn vows?) The article also states that Manion became a Buddhist in the 1980's.
I'm unsure whether to add this information to the article without another source. The article is a review of the new book about the St. Louis Jesuits. Can someone who has anyone read the book itself verify these claims? - Lawrence King 23:17, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
