Stanley Darrow

Stanley Darrow, noted accordion teacher, concert performer and lecturer is from Camden, NJ. He has studied at New York City College of Music, Combs College, PA, Neupauer Conservatory of Music, PA, and the Hohner Konservatorium in Trossigen, Germany. In 1952 Stanley and Sherrie Darrow founded the Acme Accordion School with branches in Pitman and Westmont, New Jersey.
Stanley is a member of the Accordion Teachers' Association of New Jersey, and the American Accordionists' Association. He is an active board member of the Accordionists and Teachers Guild, International and the American Accordion Musicological Society. In addition to these activities, he is responsible for the accordion being accepted as a major instrument at Rowan University. With his interest in contemporary accordion music, he was the first to release an all contemporary LP of all original accordion music in 1965. He is founder-director of the Westmont Philharmonia Accordion Orchestra (1960), one of the few serious accordion orchestras in the USA
