A woman walks in the Veteran Affairs hospital, closing all the curtains around her brother's (an amputee Iraq war veteran) bed and reluctantly hands him a syringe of penabarbitol. After his sister leaves, he sticks the syringe in his heart and dies. David's fears and grief over Nate's death take over his life with recurring nightmares and visions of a demon in a red hooded jacket stabbing Durell. The final straw for David is when Keith tells him to go away for a few days to recover from his grief after David suddenly takes Anthony and Durrell home from school early when he spotted a car that was similar to the serial killer's description he heard about on the radio. Billy moves in with Brenda to help prepare her for the arrival of her baby while Ruth and George help take care of Maya. Claire goes on a drunken rant at work with her co-worker Kirsten in the bathroom and ends up being fired from her job. Ted drives Claire home and more trouble ensues with Claire harrassing the deceased's mother and sister while David, Federico and Ted try to get her in the house.Claire hurls insults and a bottle of water at Ted and fights with him over her car keys, but ends up sending Ted away and ends up grabbing her spare set of keys and getting out of the house. Federico keeps pushing David to have a discussion about the future of Fisher & Diaz because of Nate's passing and after he and Vanessa spotted a mortuary for sale. Claire goes out to visit Nate's gravesite and communicates with Nate about the static, when suddenly they hear a growling noise, with Nate running and Claire running to her car and while speeding sees a deer and tries to avoid it, but ends up rolling her car over and totalling it. Brenda comes to the funeral home to take Maya home, but Ruth is reluctant to give Maya back and yells at Brenda for the choices she made after Nate's death, and learns from Brenda that Nate and Maggie made love before Nate suffered his fatal seizure. Claire tries to increase the price for selling her car parts, when the two truck worker tells her that she was lucky to survive after her ordeal and reaches a deal in buying the parts to her car for nine hundred and fifty dollars. Federico takes into consideration looking at the mortuary after Vanessa's suggestions with David giving him his final decision that Fisher & Diaz will not be sold. While Brenda is at the funeral home to take Maya back, her water breaks and starts going into labor.
