Steve Anderson (Trance DJ/Producer)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Steve Anderson was born in St Andrews, Scotland in 1972. His father was a lead guitarist and introduced him to the music industry at the age of seven when Steve began to play drums. Between the age of seven and fifteen Steve won local, area, national and world honours as a solo drummer - playing in various Pipe Bands before taking up kit drumming and playing in touring bands thereafter around Scotland.
Around the age of 13 he was heavily influenced by the New York breakdancing scene, and became a b-boy with local crews in and around Fife at that time. Influences such as the early Electro albums, Beat Street, Bomb The Bass and later the UK Acid House scene saw Steve make the move into dance music - such as Acid House and rave. The early nineties rave scene saw Steve first enter into the industry as a performer, with various bookings around Scotland as a Hardcore DJ playing Techno. In 1994 he began a residency at Fat Sams club in Dundee alongside friend and resident DJ Dave Calikes.
Steve's attention left the dance scene between 1996 and 1999 when he pursued his love of boxing, spending these years in the gym and eventually leading to medal honours before he retired from the sport. From 1998/1999 he channelled all energies again into the music industry, with his new found love of Trance music. He held weekly residency in Edinburgh clubs such as Revolution and Cube before promoting his own Club SAturn events around Scotland and worldwide.
Steve finally moved into Music Production in 2003 when he also launched the record label "DJSA Records". His first single "SAturn" was released on 12" vinyl, CD single and download and was used by boxer Gary Young as his TV ring entrance music. He has since teamed up with Edinburgh producer Chris Breame to form the huge Trance duo "A/B Project", whose releases have earned worldwide support and respect including "Distorted Clarity", "Eternal Optimism" and "Misconceptions".
DJSA Records is now one of the UK's finest Trance labels with over 14 releases worldwide, and continues to expose new talent from the industry.
