[edit] Best stereophonics songs
Well, obviously a non-stereophonics fan wrote this site as their best songs are not (contrary to the above's opinion)just on their first two albums. Each album contains many fine songs,
From Word gets around: More life in a tramps vest, local boy in the photograph, traffic, same size feet and too many sandwiches. Although these songs may (or may not) have charted they are very memorable songs. Buy the album!
From Performance and Cocktails: The bartender and the thief, Hurry up and wait, T-shirt Sun Tan, and I stopped to fill my car up.
From You gotta go there to come back: Help me (She's out of her mind, Maybe tommorow, Nadame helga, Nothing precious at all, Rainbows and pots of gold and Since i told you its over (one of the saddest songs)
My favourite album: Jsut enough education to perform; Vegas two times, Lying in the sun, Step on my old size nines, Have a nice day, Nice to be out, and Watch them fly Sundays
Langauge, sex, violence, other: Dakota, rewind, lolita, brother and devil.
These are just a few of the greatest. People who listen to music have to realise that music grows on you. A casual listen is fine, however a judgement on the relative "Goodness" of a song is not appropriate if the listener has not taken the time to truly listen to every song.

those are definately not the best Stereophonics material. It's widely agreed that most of their best stuff is on their first two albums. You can pick pretty much anything from those first two albums, compare it to their later stuff which is not a patch on it.
Notable tracks are
"local boy in a photograph" "Just looking" "Pick a part that's new" "A thousand trees"
Those are legendary tracks that the Stereophonics should be remembered for. One or two are anthem like.

The article says that a track named "Moviestar" from YGGTTCB was released. This track isn't on my copy?? -sars 15:46, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

I understand your feelings on this and although ultimately the below is just my opinion I'm certain of it.
The stereophonics most widely acclaimed albums are the first two. 'Just enuogh education to perform' was abit of a flop in comparison. Its the sheer quality of 'the word gets around' that made this band. It's possible that were there no "life in a tramps vest", "local boy in a photograph" etc we wouldn't be writing about the stereophonics today, instead they would be unheard of.
The stereophonics have improved there sound throughout but 'Just enough education to perform' was an experimental album, and not a popularist one so gains less appeal. It's as simple as that.

The leading line states that Stereophonics never were called "The stereophonics".
This is not true, they were called 'the stereophonics' just before they were signed up to V2. It is written on various demo tapes. Although the band promtly dropped 'the' and are still known as Stereophonics

Is this the same Richard Jones that Sophie Ellis-Bextor is married to ?

I flagged this article as requiring restructuring because of the "jumbled" nature of the content. For example you have information on the band history in the introduction and should be split down in to things like Awards etc. Martin Porcheron 16:22, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
