[edit] Biography
Strike the Choir is a five piece post hardcore band from Monticello, AR. The band started as more of a screamo band and after a change of drummers, adopted their current style. They have played all over Arkansas with bands such as As Cities Burn, Flee the Seen, Sullivan, Chasing Victory, as well as many local bands. Currently they are looking for a place to record an ep, while actively playing shows around Arkansas. Strike the Choir carries an extreme energy in their music that can be seen reflected in the crowd's adrenaline. Although the band has a very unique sound, they can easily be compared to other post hardcore/hardcore bands such as Underoath and Norma Jean. The band has quickly risen to the top in the local area above many long existing bands. "This is the Angel" is the most well-known song by Strike the Choir, although it is an old song and is different from the rest of their songs, it is the song the crowd reacts most to. Drummer Chris was on house arrest for 60 days and recently got off, allowing them to play full band shows again. Recently, there was also a rumor that the band had parted ways, but it was recently confirmed by Strike the Choir's myspace page that they had not broken up.
