[edit] Hair Children (Bobobob-bo Bo-bobo)
This is an article of the five Hair Children from the manga series Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo by Yoshio Sawai.
[edit] Background
The Hair Children are five humans born and raised within the land of the Hair Kingdom, a country in a future Earth in the year 300X. Although their mother is unknown, they all share the same father of TUYOSHI, a living hair follicle. Because very few humans are born in the land mostly comprised of hair follicles, these children are considered the royalty of the land and one is chosen to rule over all.
Each of these children, like all Hair Kingdom citizens, possess a special Hair Ball (毛の玉 Ge no Tama) within them. This Hair Ball is the source of their power, allowing them to possess abilities as well as use their special fist moves. It is through this ball that each of the children is able to eventually master one of the five various Hair Fist abilities, allowing them to manipulate one section of the hair on their body and use its power to fight against other opponents. It takes many years for a Hair Fist to be mastered and only those from the Hair Kingdom, particularly these children, can ever learn the ability to the fullest.
The order of birth for the Hair Children can be determined by the vowel used as part of their name, going in the alphabetical order of:
- Bababa-ba Ba-baba (A, eldest child)
- Bibibi-bi Bi-bibi (I, second-eldest child)
- Bububu-bu Bu-bubu (U, middle child)
- Bebebe-be Be-bebe (E, second-youngest child)
- Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (O, youngest child)
For particular reason, the two eldest children possess an evil aura around them, as sensed by the younger children and Hatenko (another humanoid citizen of the Hair Kingdom unrelated to the Hair Children). It is unknown how or why they do, but the siblings always were considered fearful of them. The two have shown intention to taking over the entire world, yet have not even attempted to do so within the plot of the series.
Although the Hair Children originally had no concern or connection to the outside world, the start of a new Hair Hunt twenty years prior to the start of the manga series forced them into a situation beyond their control. Amidst the chaos, three of the five children left the Hair Kingdom beyond their control. Once the dust settled, two of the children, Bi-bibi and Bu-bubu, remained, yet one would rule the kingdom while the other would fight against their control waiting for help to arrive.
