Suicide Tuesday

Suicide Tuesday (or Mid-week blues, Ecstasy Tuesday) is a slang term for the depressive period following the use of MDMA (ecstasy). This term is currently thought to be in use in Australia, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
Suicide Tuesday refers to the Tuesday after MDMA use, typically on a Friday or Saturday. This is due to depletion of serotonin levels caused by the MDMA high. Some MDMA users claim that taking 5-HTP supplements on the day after use will reduce the Suicide Tuesday effect by replenishing serotonin levels.
The phrase is also applied to the Tuesday following a weekend of methamphetamine use.
