Hi Hephaestos, I was wondering about the copyright status of Image:Sumo.jpeg. It is tagged as public domain and comes from [2]. How do we know this is public domain? silsor 04:54, Mar 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Because it is from a .gov website. - Hephaestos|§ 08:25, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- We know that works of the US federal government are PD, but what about random photos from a 1994 Fermilab poster that just happens to be on a .gov web site? I'm not trying to be difficult, just labeling images more accurately. silsor 15:14, Mar 13, 2005 (UTC)
- If it were a non-government photo there would be an author or a disclaimer on it; there's none. - Hephaestos|§ 01:49, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
