SummerSlam 1991 was the fourth annual SummerSlam professional wrestling pay-per-view event from the World Wrestling Federation. It took place on August 26, 1991 at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York. The tagline was "A Match Made in Heaven, A Match Made in Hell" for its main event and the wedding of Savage/Elizabeth.

- Koko B. Ware pinned Kato.
- The British Bulldog, Ricky Steamboat, and The Texas Tornado defeated The Warlord and Power and Glory (Paul Roma and Hercules) (w/Slick) (10:43)
- Steamboat pinned Roma after after a High Crossbody.
- Bret Hart defeated Mr. Perfect to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship (18:04)
- Hart made Perfect submit with the Sharpshooter.
- The Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon) (w/Jimmy Hart) defeated The Bushwackers (Butch Miller and Luke Williams) (w/André the Giant) (6:27)
- Earthquake pinned Luke after a Earthquake Squash.
- After the match, The Natural Disasters cornered André, but the Legion of Doom came to his rescue.
- Virgil defeated Ted DiBiase (w/Sensational Sherri) to win the Million Dollar Championship (13:11)
- Virgil pinned Dibiase after smashing DiBiase's head into an exposed turnbuckle.
- The Big Boss Man defeated The Mountie (w/Jimmy Hart) in a "Jailhouse Match" (9:38)
- Boss Man pinned Mountie after a Double-leg Slam.
- The loser of this match had to spend 24 hours in a New York City jail.
- The Legion of Doom (Hawk and Animal) defeated The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags) in a Street Fight to win the WWF Tag Team Championship (7:45)
- Animal pinned Sags after the Doomsday Device.
- Irwin R. Schyster (I.R.S.) defeated Greg Valentine (7:07)
- I.R.S. pinned Valentine with a roll-up.
- Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior defeated Sgt. Slaughter, Colonel Mustafa and General Adnan (w/Sid Justice as special guest referee) in a Handicap Match (12:40)
- Hogan pinned Slaughter after a Leg drop after throwing powder in his eyes.

- The main event handicapped match was dubbed "A Match Made In Hell" by announcer Vince McMahon.
- SummerSlam 1991 also featured the on-screen wedding of Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth, dubbed "A Match Made In Heaven" by announcer Vince McMahon.
- Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth had been married in real life since December 1984.
- This was the final appearance of The Ultimate Warrior during his first tenure with the company, as he held the WWF up for money prior to the main event. He was released instantaneously upon finishing the match, and would not return until WrestleMania VIII.
- In winning the WWF Tag Team Championship, The Road Warriors became the first (and thus far the only) tag team in wrestling history to have held the WWF Tag Titles, the NWA World Tag Team Titles and the AWA World Tag Team Titles.
- This was André the Giant's last pay-per-view appearance. He died 18 months later.
