[edit] recent flood in surat
surat experienced a very destructive flood recently. ( Aug 9-10-11) most of the people ( and i) and news paper belive that flood was due to carelessness of ukai dam authority ( not official). experts belive atleast 500 people have been died and approx. damage is of 5000 cror to surat industry. however this numbers are not official

all Surtis, well may be all South Gujaratis will agree that Surat without Ponk in Winter is unimaginable. I would like to see more information about Ponk under Culture section. thank you
