Sydney International Piano Competition
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia, held every four years since 1977, is Australia's most prestigious competition for pianists. It was founded by Claire Dan.
Thirty-six pianists are selected from around the world to compete, and provided with airfares and accommodation. The first prize winner receives $25,000 AUD, and a number of smaller prizes exist as well.
In the competition's thirty-year history, no Australian pianists have won the event.
